Applications for the WIPO Global Awards underway

Geneva, 15 January 2026 - World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has today opened the application process for the WIPO Global Awards 2026.

WIPO Global Awards are open to start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from all WIPO member states (194 countries).

Ten awards are given in the fields of healthcare, agri-food sector, environmental protection, creative industries and information and communication technologies, as well as two special mentions for companies led by women and young entrepreneurs.

Novelty for 2026 is the additional category "Sport", in accordance with the theme of this year's World Intellectual Property Day.

Winners receive personalized mentorship and exclusive support that facilitates their access to financing and business opportunities.
