World Intellectual Property Day - April 26

Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the EU Support for Intellectual Property Rights (EUSIPR) project, financed by the European Union, marks World Intellectual Property Day on Friday, April 26 at the Croatian House of Herceg Stjepan Kosača in Mostar, starting at 11 a.m.

 

World Intellectual Property Day - 26 April 2024 is celebrated under the theme "Intellectual Property and the Sustainable Development Goals: Building our common future with innovation and creativity", celebrating change makers around the world who drive the innovation and creativity needed to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and build a better and more sustainable future for all.

On the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day 2024, WIPO Director General Daren Tang reflects on the importance of intellectual property as a catalyst to unleash the power of innovation and creativity to address shared global challenges. Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the EU Support to Intellectual Property Rights (EUSIPR) project, funded by the European Union, will mark the World Intellectual Property Day on Friday, April 26 at the Croatian House of Herceg Stjepan Kosača in Mostar, starting at 11 a.m., when a presentation of the achievements of the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH in cooperation with the EUSIPR project in 2023 will be held, as well as a panel entitled "Intellectual Property and Sustainable Development Goals" and presenting awards to the winners of a public competition to which individuals, companies and NGOs who have innovative projects, and through which some of the Sustainable Development Goals are fulfilled, applied.   

In 2000, WIPO member states designated 26 April – the day when the WIPO Convention entered into force in 1970 – as World Intellectual Property Day, with the aim of increasing general awareness and understanding of intellectual property.
