Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH and the Faculty of Law of the University of East Sarajevo concluded a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation
Mostar, March 21, 2024 - Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Faculty of Law of the University of East Sarajevo and the Institute for Intellectual Property of Bosnia and Herzegovina was concluded on March 20, 2024 in Mostar with the aim of establishing institutional cooperation for the advancement of legal science, practice and education in the field of intellectual property rights.
Memorandum was signed by the Director of the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH Josip Merdžo and the Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of East Sarajevo Goran Marković.
As part of a comprehensive cooperation between the two sides, the Institute will enable students of the Faculty of Law practice within the framework of subjects in the narrower scientific field of copyright and industrial property right, while the Faculty of Law will provide employees of the Institute for Intellectual Property access to the faculty's rich library (including access to the official gazettes of Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, from 1945 to the present).
Among other things, a joint organization of student practice, round tables, conferences and other educational events in the field of intellectual property rights is planned, with the aim of promoting and raising awareness of the importance of intellectual property rights.
The memorandum was concluded for a period of five years.
